If you want to bring more balance, more joy, and more peace to your motherhood, This is the place for you. I'm your host, Certified Life Coach and Catholic Mom, Danielle Thienel.
In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, let's get started.
Welcome back to the Peaceful Mind Podcast, dear friends. Today I want to talk to you about how we can confidently handle anything life throws our way. Anything. And we'll do that by relying on God's presence, relying on his promises, and [00:01:00] taking a look at our past experiences of how we already successfully coped with challenges before here as Christian Moms.
We often find ourselves kind of going through some rough terrain, but the good news is that we don't have to do it alone. And when we journey through difficulties with God by our side, we can gain the assurance that together, We can handle absolutely anything. This is what this podcast episode aims to have you believing more deeply about yourself is that you can handle absolutely anything.
And this kind of goes along with my Cyclone Mom Method that gives the, the picture, the metaphor of a swirling cyclone mom and I want a swirling cyclone. And I want you to realize that handling anything is being is knowing how you [00:02:00] can step into the calm of the storm where your power lies. So the calm of the storm in the middle.
No matter what is swirling around you, that is what we're talking about today. It's how you can handle absolutely anything. Okay. So the very first step of the formula is to renew and remind yourself that God is continually present with you, right? These are like three blessings. Even though I have it's a formula, but these are really blessings that we want to tap into the first blessing, God's continual presence that enables us to handle life's challenges in the knowledge that he is with us always.
In Acts 17:28, we're reminded that in him, we live and move and have our [00:03:00] being. And when we cultivate an awareness of his loving presence in our daily lives, we can then approach even the toughest times with confidence. So imagine you're facing a particular difficult season, perhaps you're caring for a sick child or a sick parent while also managing your work responsibilities, household duties in times like these, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and alone, but when you pause and remember that God is right there with you, you can tap into a source of strength and peace transcends it.
Your circumstances, and it requires us reminding ourselves and taking our minds, taking our brain to what we know about God's continual presence, which leads me to blessing number two. And that is the Bible's [00:04:00] precious promises, right? This second blessing. Is that there are countless promises that are found in God's word.
And when we anchor ourselves in these truths, we will find comfort. We will find guidance. We will find reassurance and we will find our next steps. And if you haven't listened to the podcast that I made a couple weeks ago that's called five powerful promises from God that every mom needs to remember.
That is what I'm talking about here. Only there are way more than five in the Bible. So go ahead and listen to that episode and it'll help you with this step that reminds you how you can handle. Absolutely anything that comes your way, because yes, there are countless promises that are found in God's words.
And I want you to know that we will have so many [00:05:00] challenging times, but the precious Bible promises can be a lifeline for us. So let's say you're walking through a season of financial strain, and you're worried about providing for your family. And as you turn it. To the Bible, you come across a verse like Philippians 4:19 which says, all my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
And so that is a problem, a promise, right? It's a promise where he says he will meet all your needs. And in that time, if you go, this is how you can handle the financial strain that you're under. And this is going to give you some clarity. It's going to give you some peace. It'll help you maybe determine what the next thing is.
It'll give you some relief. So holding on to the promises like this one, it can help you, it'll help you release fear, and [00:06:00] it'll help you to trust in God's provision, even when your circumstances feel uncertain. Okay. Your past experiences of coping with the challenges successfully, this is the third blessing is our own history of how you managed to be able to help yourself handle a difficult situation in the past.
And so when we look back on our lives, we can see that there really are countless examples of how God has helped us through difficult days. Yet, what happens is we fall into the trap of thinking, yes, but that was then, and this is now, and this is different. But the truth is, though the circumstances are different, though they change, God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And what worked for you then, [00:07:00] what was provided for you, and how you handled that before will also tell you. The path to try this time so think back to a challenge that you had in your past that you faced before. Maybe it's a time of marital issues, or it's a period of struggling with a mental health in that maybe you were more anxious at this time or more depressed about something, but recall how.
You got through it. Right? Recall. And then what I'm offering today is that you can go to God, right? So we know he's always with us and we can go to the Bible to help us, right? Do not be anxious. It's one of the promises in there and recall how maybe you cried out to prayer and then it ended up being okay and [00:08:00] working out, right?
How did he meet you before in those dark moments or what did you put your focus on that ended up being so supportive for you to be able to handle it better? And then fast forward to the present moment, whatever challenge you are currently facing. Those same actions you took before are available to you.
Remember that that same God who carried you through in the past is with you now, ready to guide and strengthen you once again. Okay, so there you have it. Short and sweet this week. A powerful three step formula for handling anything that life throws your way. Number one, by remembering God's continual presence, number two, anchoring in his promises, and three, drawing from your own experiences of successfully coping with challenges in the past.
[00:09:00] You can approach any difficult season or challenge or issue you're being made. Being dealt with right now with confidence and peace. And I encourage you to take some time today to reflect on these three steps, these, this formula, these three blessings, really. Maybe that means writing down some specific Bible verses that speak to your current circumstances.
Maybe it's taking a moment to actually think back. Into those past challenges that you, that you overcame and of course, remind yourself that whatever you're dealing with now or needing to handle, God is right there. He is ready to help most importantly, right? Practice tuning in to that loving presence that's there moment by moment.
