I don't have it in front of me now, but it's called Become a Cyclone Mom, but that has been turned into a book that I can't wait to share for all of you.
That describes and helps you by letting you know about my Cyclone Mom method. So, so many fun, good things that are coming up this year. To help you in your busy mom life, and today we're gonna talk about how you can strengthen your spirituality. And I'm just gonna mention that I have a 30 day path to a peaceful mind guide that can absolutely help you with this, and that is available to purchase.
I will have the link in the show notes for that, but I just also wanna welcome you. There are so many people that end up coming to a, a call with me, a free call, who have never experienced life coaching. and if you are someone who has been listening to me for a while, I just had someone come and she's like, I don't know why I waited so long.
Even on the one call. I aim to have you leaving and taking away with something very real and life changing for you to apply to your personal circumstances that are going on in your life right now. I love to. Other mamas and especially listeners here on the podcast. So I just wanna invite you to just explore what is holding you.
This opportunity to experience life coaching, to connect with me in this deeper, more personal way. And so I just wanna invite you several offerings for you all to take ad take advantage of diving deeper into this work. And with that, we are going to now dive into strengthening our spiritu. , you know, I don't anticipate this being a long podcast because I've got like five strategies I wanna hit and you know, they're simple.
They are nothing you haven't heard before, they, I'm here to just remind you and to keep it top of mind and to tap in. To a perspective and consciousness about your life that you just probably forgot. These are simple, but a lot of times, you know, we're fighting with that lower brain, that survival brain that wants to keep us safe and doesn't have us changing.
Then we're also working against you know, Satan who's trying to fill our minds and our lives with so much busyness that we forget and don't prioritize strengthening our spirituality. But these simple strategies that I'm gonna give you today, just focus. on maybe adding one to your life or just don't even think when it, when I, when you think of adding one that then you have to go from zero to like seven of getting seven.
Times seven things done in that week, like every day, I guess is what I'm trying to say. Cuz I often see this with my clients, right? When they decide that they want a goal and they've been doing zero of it so far, and then they go to just like full throttle having to do it all the time every day. No wait.
The way we strengthen, so. Is a little bit at a time, right? Just like how we're strengthening our muscles when we work out and do weights, which I'm in the midst of doing right now. We raise it a little bit each week so that we can fatigue and build and strengthen our muscles. So just. If you add a little bit more of what I offer here today to your life, know that that is amazing.
Right? And of course I'm always, you know, offering for you to give yourself a. B minus grade at the end of the week is awesome. It's so good, mamas. So let's just start with my simple strategies. Now also, you know, I'm gonna preface and tell you that I am coming from a Catholic view here. I'm also going to see that if you are a.
I have a different spirituality than I do a different Christian view or something else. You for sure can take what I say and apply it to your faith practice, but I am Catholic and I'm coming from a Catholic valued. Kind of way of strengthening my spirituality. So again, when, if you are not Catholic and you hear me say something that has to do with, you know, just how can you make it work for your own faith, to strengthen your own spirituality?
Okay, here's the first strategy, daily prayer. Okay? So many of my moms, right? It's like, I don't, I'm not making the time for prayer. I'm, I'm not being able to build it in my busy. This is a very, very worthy goal when you put God first, when you have the communication with heaven, when you connect yourself and call on your faith, you will then not only be strengthening your spirituality, but you will be giving yourself the most beautiful foundational gift for the rest of your day, so daily.
This includes regular participation in mass or the rosary. It's, it's as well as having some time for personal reflection and contemplation of scripture. , just daily reflection and meditating on the things of heaven. This is having personal conversations with Christ. This is letting him know you're there, that you love him, that you thank him.
This is praying for others. This is just pausing and taking a moment to bring your mind towards. Spirituality and faith so that you can quietly reflect and connect with the higher power and gain a deeper understanding of yourself, reminding you what your place in the world is, right, that you are created by God in his image.
That connection, it is a lifeline. So if you wanna strengthen your spirituality, are you someone who wants to be building in daily prayer and meditation to your spiritual practice? And again, daily prayer could mean as, as little as being mindful to say, in our father, A Hail Mary, an act contrition or glory b.
It's literally, do you have, do you get to whisper the words? Help me, Jesus or Holy Spirit, you are welcome here. Anything that you can bring yourself into mindfulness. Of your spirituality. I love I've got a few friends who are not like doing well health wise right now, and I really, really make it a focus to bring myself in daily prayer if I'm at least just saying, you know, pray for so and so, heal.
So, so-and-so. So those are my, the first strategy I wanted to offer you today. The second strategy is to think about service and charity. Serving others and practicing acts of charity is a fundamental aspect of my Catholic spirituality and really just, you know, the golden rule, right to do unto others and we need to be helping each other out.
When we do so we grow, we grow in empathy, and we grow in under the understanding of others. And this is when we are in service and charity. We are putting our faith into action. This can look like volunteer work. It's, it's in some capacity. How are you helping and contributing to the greater good? I do consider my line of work that this is a vocation that I do, that I ask God to use me as a channel for his peace, that he connects me to his to who in his flock is, is suffering.
Want. Then God wants to connect with the gifts he has given me. I feel like my mission is to help moms feel better in general. That's like at the very kind of watered down narrowest terms of it all because I know the difference that if, if I can help change one mom's life, it directly affects their spouse, their children.
And then from there I just see it as a ripple. Like I, I view it as throwing that skip rock in the pond and I, alls I have to do is skip that rock. Wants to a mom and it just, the ripple effect goes on to their family, to their, you know, extended family and community. And it just ultimately impacts the whole world as a whole.
So being able to, Be of service, whether it's volunteer work or as part of your vocation or job, and and do charitable acts of work of works, it is contributing to the greater good. And it also, it, it makes a positive impact on the world, but develops our sense of purpose and meaning. And a lot of moms come to me telling me that they, you know, they just.
Kind of feel lost and don't feel purposeful outside of their role as mom. So if you wanna strengthen your spirituality, maybe this is the strategy you wanna take on, which is adding service, charity, volunteer work to your life. The third strategy is around. It's around mindfulness in particular. Kind of bringing, I guess when I'm coaching someone, I'm helping them like scan, for lack of a better word, like scan and.
And I guess dig out, I'm trying to think of some words that help about what's really going on inside their mind and heart, because I need to get it out and visually see it to help them and to ha help them then release it. So a strategy to strengthen your personality is around becoming way more mindful and for our Catholic.
For my Catholic faith, one of the ways to strengthen my spirituality and to be able to become more mindful is to regular scan for my life, for where I may need to have a confession and do penance because, because, There is so much just heaviness and guilt and self deprecation that goes on in the minds of a mom.
And often time we think that we aren't doing right or doing well. But ultimately what is true is that we are human and we make mistakes. We. and keeping that inside, right? They call it, it's just like, you know, a virus that can take over and I'm about helping you create the life that you want. And I, and I say that it's an internal job, so we have to get out and wanna get out what's going on internally and to strengthen my spirituality, confession and penance is one way that I.
I can do that. It, doing it on the regular is an important aspect of the Catholic life and it, and it helps me grow in humility. , it definitely increases my self-awareness, which goes hand in hand with the work that I do in coaching, which is to help you become more self-aware of what it is that you want to achieve and want to be doing, and what isn't working well for you and what it is that you wanna change.
And then of course there's a, you know, a heart of contr. and those that might not be sharing my faith. You can still find this through, through different kind of mindful practices, you know, whether it's you know, yoga or you know, talking with a friend and of course, You know, I do have to put in that coaching absolutely brings a mindfulness to your life.
And for sure, this deepens my spirituality. It has me bringing my thoughts to call on my faith to help me in this life. And I always want to just kind of, you know, bump things I wanna do up against. My, the spiritual lens that I want to live my life through. So it just focusing your mind, this is what relieves stress for us and it just cultivates an inner peace.
Okay. Then I wanna talk about the next strategy is, Fasting and abstinence. Now, I know when I say this, this is totally like traditional Catholic spiritual practices, but I wanna offer it in a, in a, just a slightly different way. So yes, when we think of fasting, we're thinking about giving up food maybe as we are approaching Lent and you know, not eating certain amount of things and just abstaining.
From things that might regularly have us, you know, on like a habit that we're doing that we might deem isn't healthy for us or something like that. But the, to strengthen your spirituality. What I want you to, what I want you to think about in regarding to fasting and abstinence is literally just like, what can I do that would help me grow in self-control and self-discipline and.
For you, it might not be giving up food. Like maybe it's becoming, like deciding that I could have more self-control or more self-discipline over how much I scroll on my phone, right? Knowing that I could strengthen my spirituality if instead of doing something that usually just takes me, you know, kind of mind numbing activity.
To, if I were to like, decide to put my phone away or step away from a social, social media platform for a time, and that would be hard, right? I'm, I'm admittingly like this. Thinking about it myself, like it would be hard. But when we wanna strengthen our spirituality, we're looking to see like, we might have to suffer a little bit.
And that unites us. It unites us with the suffering of Christ. So it will take some self-control and self-discipline and might, you know, invite some suffering into your life, some uncomfortableness, some pain. But if that is a way that you can strengthen your spirituality and in nature and outdoor activities.
is a great option to switch out from something that you might wanna fast and abstain from. So instead of sitting and watching some more television, maybe you, you fill it with something else that would strengthen your spirituality, like a walk and a hike, and spending that time in nature and engaging in the outdoor activities.
It is such a great way to connect with your spirituality because it is there when we're in nature that we get this, this sense of wonder and transcendence because this is what, this is the amazingness of this world that God created and we, when we put ourselves in this situation where we see these things and, and smell the smells and just hear the sounds of nature.
It for sure deepens our inner peace. It creates more calm for us and we gain a deeper appreciation for the beauty of life and if anything doesn't strengthen your spirituality, then P inner peace, calm, and appreciation of the beauty of life. I don't know what does. So the last thing that I wanna offer you that can strengthen your spirituality, Is to read and study spiritual things.
right? So it can be a variety of, you know, of course it could be the Bible, it could be things that are on an app. It's just different literature that has spiritual perspectives and practices, and it might not even be your. , like, you know, you can strengthen your spirituality in such a positive way sometimes by exploring like the other religions or other ways of spirituality.
It is, it doesn't detract from the faith you have. You have chosen it. Ask yourself, how can this enhance, how can this enhance my spirituality by reading and study? Spiritual texts, and it, of course it can be your own. So for instance, you know, in my Catholic faith, we have a devotion to Mary and the Saints, and we often look to them as examples.
Of faith and holiness and so I love reading books on the Saints. I love hearing about how they spent their life here and what it was like and, and there are some real like ones that are, have. Were alive when we were alive, and I love that. And then there were some that lived in a way different time, and it's so fascinating and interesting, but in my faith, I really strengthened my spirituality when I seek their intercession.
It's just such a powerful way to call on them to help you. You know, in the, in the daily challenges and struggles that we have in life. So how that might relate to your own faith practice. Maybe you're just coming up with some ideas as you hear me talk about it. So that is what I wanted to offer you today.
Those were a few examples on where you can add these strategies to strengthen your spirituality right now, if you are feeling that it could use a boost. So just take either I've, the few examples I gave were daily prayer and meditation, like regular participation in the sacraments. Just regularly setting aside time for quiet reflection meditation.
Know that. J it's just connecting with a higher power and then adding some service or charity work, some volunteering perhaps. Where could you just help others reach out? Contribute. And that can definitely strengthen your spiritual your spiritual practice. Confession and penance are, Just regularly growing in humility and self-awareness of yourself and just bringing a mindfulness to what's going on inside your mind and just finding an avenue to to release it, to let it go, to get it out, that will strengthen your spirituality.
And then fasting. Fasting and abstinence. What area or what activity could you grow in self-control and self-discipline while uniting yourself with the suffering of Christ? And what could you just give up for a little bit so that you could gain so much more? And the example that I gave was an activity that you could stop doing and then you could fill that with maybe going out into nature and doing outdoor activity.
So we want to. The last one that I offered was to see what we could fill our mind with that we might not be doing consciously right now. So adding any kind of reading or studying of spiritual text. And that is just to gain a deeper understanding of a different spiritual perspective or practice, or a deeper one with your own.
Is the strategies that I came up with to give you some help in your life. I know that I hear that a lot from my mamas, that it's one thing that they wanna do. Is that they wanna connect more and that they want to deepen their relationship and literally just build it into their busy routine. So I hope that today's episode gave you a few ideas that you could focus on to start building and adding into your busy mom life.
