goals and to have what I want in my life and just to create amazing things. It is believing new things. It is imperative. And today I'm going

how to do that because it is exactly no matter if I've got a mom coming to me that wants help with time management, one that's

about to embark on

getting back out

into the workforce or wants to start her own
00:01:53:01 - 00:01:54:17
little side gig while
00:01:54:19 - 00:01:59:27
she's caring for her kids or struggling with their marriage or organizing their home,

or just building confidence or just wanting someone to
00:02:05:03 - 00:02:07:01
be there to just help them

along to

get to their goals.

It's always about them needing to believe new things. And this is why because

everything starts in your brain. The thoughts you are thinking in your brain, this is what turns into your beliefs.

When you think a thought

over and over again,

this is what is a belief.

So I'm sure you have lots of beliefs right now that are totally serving you, especially if you are a woman of

faith, as I am.

We have certain beliefs right about our faith.

They feel absolutely
00:02:50:06 - 00:02:51:08
true to us

and we have chosen to think about them in a way that when we think about it over and over again, that it feels true to us and it

becomes our truth. But what

I want to offer you today

is that there are things that

you might have just learn to believe because someone else told you. And then it might be something

that served you at a different part of your life in your motherhood.

But that now it's not serving you, it's not helping you. And so you have to

teach yourself

how to believe new things. OK, so this is what I'm going to outline kind of what it is

the process

to believe new things and then

we'll dive deeper into each one. So here's the process. Like I started out saying, number one, everything starts in your brain. Just know that everything starts when we've

had a thought about it. Anything that's been
00:03:50:17 - 00:03:51:23
created in the world.

It began with someone having a thought

to create it. Kate, number two, what you believe? Is based on your past. So what you're currently

believing now

is based on your past. But number three tells

us that what you want,

what you want to create that you

don't currently have now can only be based on what you are thinking about now

about your future. Number four, we're going to talk about how

do you believe something that you don't yet believe because

there is a process, a simple, clear process. Number five, when your beliefs

change, you create change. It's just inevitable

as you grow and change your beliefs, the results you see in your life

will be different. And then number six, we're going to commit.

We're going to commit to certain thoughts in our brain and practice them and apply them over and over again and redirect our brain that way.

that is how through this commitment, this is how you

start to believe new things. All right. So just think

right now before we start, I want you to kind of have a focus in your mind. What is something you currently believe about yourself that

you want to believe something different in? You want some change. Or I'll give you an example about myself. I'll think back to

when I first came to

coaching,

where I found it through a
00:05:25:18 - 00:05:55:06
friend who was a life coach, and then she told me about the Life Coach School podcast. And then as I dove deep into that, I just started my my. My mind started to think like, I think that's what I want to do. I think that's who I want to be. I want to be someone who learns these things and then helps other people. But I would have these thoughts like, can I do that? Am I capable of doing that? You know, is there something that they have that I don't

have with that work for my

life? What would that look like?

I'm not sure. You know, I've never done that before,

and I needed to just decide on something that I wanted to believe differently about myself. And that moment, it's fine to recognize what your current thinking is. But I had to decide what is that new belief I want to have? And so it could be as simple

when I

reflect back is saying no. It's possible. That I will be an amazing coach and help many people in the world. It's possible that I could make this be my

new career path.

I want to believe that that job

and that career and that

vocation would

be the perfect

one to transition to as my kids are getting older

and I have a little bit

more time. Do you see like, these are new things I wanted to believe, but at the time, I didn't believe it. I didn't know that that was possible for me. So if that is something that I wanted to got, this is

kind of like the process to get there.

But before we dive in, I want you to think about something in particular. So when I tell you these steps, you can apply it to it. What is something that you want to believe about yourself or something about your life? You want to believe that you can

work towards with what I have to offer you today? OK, let's start with number one. OK, everything starts in your brain,

so every single thing that has ever been created by humans has been created with a thought

in someone's brain first.

Yeah, there's no exceptions to this. And so

if you don't allow yourself to focus on what you're
00:07:47:24 - 00:07:53:28
thinking, then you can't really create anything. It's like we can't be unconscious
00:07:54:00 - 00:07:55:15
about our thoughts anymore.

And this is what coaching has done for me. It has brought a consciousness to my thinking. I've become a watcher of my thoughts.

And so the very first step

to believing new things must be this

new awareness of what's going on in your brain.

And if you've listened to the podcast, you know, long enough, you will know that I mentioned things like thought downloads, getting all of your thinking down on paper, just kind of doing like a brain dump of what's going on in there until it's empty, right? Keep asking your brain, What else am I thinking? What else am I thinking? And then when it's

on paper, you can then become the watcher.

You can see that tangible

item on your paper, whereas before it was swirling in your head,

a lot of people like to do this with journaling. That's also an option. And then,

of course, talking with

a coach who can then see your thoughts and reflect them back to you and show you what you were thinking and you were, you might not have. Even while most likely you weren't realizing that it was just a thought, you just feel like you're kind of telling the news, telling me exactly what is true. But it is thoughts. It is your thinking. And we often don't think of creation, of

creating our results

in our life as something

that happens in our brain. But it is where all true creation starts.

Like we create thoughts and then we create things. You know, if you decide I need a new TV, that's a thought. And then it propels

into action, too. Then if you have the TV, if you've bought it and you've delivered, have

it delivered to your house and it's

set up, you now have it. But it began with that thought. I need a new TV and a thought is literally just a sentence and we create a lot of them in our daily life. The lot of them come in. But that consciousness, if you really

want to use your true power to believe new things, there has to

be this new kind of way of
00:10:02:25 - 00:10:06:29
watching your thoughts and really finding out what's in your brain instead

of just letting the

normal

thoughts that you've been thinking

over and over again kind of swirl in there

and just they're so natural and subconscious. And so you will keep creating the same things, and maybe a lot of the
00:10:22:25 - 00:10:25:09
things are serving you and works for your life.

So I'm talking about when you recognize a change you want to make in your life. This is where you have to bring consciousness to what you're thinking about that area and then decide, do I want to become the person who believes something differently about it? I wanted to believe differently that I absolutely could become a coach, have a coaching business, have be the deciding, you know, decision maker for this business and also integrate it into my life in a way that has me showing up as the mom that I want to.

And then

I'm also serving and

helping other people, you know, and I hadn't really any done. I hadn't done any of that online or

anything before, so there was a lot to learn.

But I stayed focused on what it was that I wanted to create, and I had to kind of build evidence and think that it was possible for myself. And it took a lot of coaching

for a coach to show me all those beliefs that were going. Getting in

my way that I didn't really realize that, you know, for
00:11:32:00 - 00:11:35:01
instance, I really was holding on my thoughts that I was a
00:11:35:03 - 00:11:38:23
perfectionist, that things needed to be perfect before I did them
00:11:39:06 - 00:11:40:12
or I wasn't really
00:11:40:14 - 00:11:43:27
good at technology. So uncovering
00:11:43:29 - 00:11:46:07
that I had these thought errors in
00:11:46:09 - 00:12:03:25
my mind, I then once I saw them and they were revealed to me, I decided I didn't want to believe that anymore. I wanted to believe new things. And then when you take this thought and put it into the self coaching model, this is a tool that I teach all of my clients and I've talked

about here on the

podcast. I then realized that that thought of me not being, you know, capable
00:12:12:19 - 00:12:14:07
or not being able to learn
00:12:14:09 - 00:12:21:06
technology, I could then put that into the model to see, like, do I want to keep thinking that?

Or first seeing
00:12:22:27 - 00:12:35:08
how I feel when I think it? And I knew that that feeling of kind of doubt was not having me act and then ultimately creating what I wanted because what happens is that the

sentences in our brains, the

thoughts. We need to believe them. When they and we want to believe the ones that create a feeling that will actually help drive us into action,

that gets us closer to the result that we want and this is how we make our dreams come true. That is the process. OK, now we're going to move on to number two,

what you believe

right now. It's based on your past. You know, your brain is filled with
00:13:08:21 - 00:13:09:14
sentences
00:13:09:23 - 00:13:20:11
and all of them were taught to you like directly or indirectly throughout your life, from when you were younger to where you are right now. And some of them are so ingrained
00:13:20:13 - 00:13:23:00
that you just don't notice them anymore.
00:13:23:10 - 00:13:30:06
They you think they're truth. They feel in your body as if their truth. But they really are just
00:13:30:09 - 00:13:38:25
thoughts and beliefs that just go unquestioned. And again, when we start to question him a lot of the time,

there are some that have served us
00:13:41:22 - 00:14:09:03
and we do like and feel good when we think them and we want to hold on to them because we want to take that on with us in our life. I'm talking about the ones that are revealed to you that when you question them, you can then see, Yeah, I don't want to be having these thoughts about myself in my life anymore. So again, the first step we have to become aware, we must become

aware of what you're thinking.

You'll look into the world and you're think that you'll be observing the facts.

But really, you were just constantly making judgments about the world based on what you've learned and believed in your past.

So again, we have to evaluate these thoughts. So if you have thoughts like I'm just this kind of person or that kind of person, it's kind of like how I told you, I used to

believe I'm just a perfectionist.

Or maybe you think I can't do that?
00:14:42:06 - 00:14:43:26
That's for other people. That's not
00:14:43:28 - 00:14:51:20
for me. How about I'm not good at this, right? If I really decided to keep believing I'm not good at figuring out technology

and computer stuff, then I would not be where I am today, where I've always had a hard time with this. That's right.

Maybe you have. And if that's just a thought, it's not a fact. And if you want to keep believing it, guess what?

You're always still going to have a hard time with it.

They kind of like these thoughts in a lot of them that

you have from your past, they really just go right under the radar for you.

There's not an awareness. It just seems easy. It's natural to think them. You don't pay close attention. And in coaching. Boy, do we pay close attention to your thoughts because we know that the reason that we have them might feel justified,

but they're not right now

getting you any closer to what you want. We want to pay attention to our feelings, too. This is so important. And again, if you've been listening the podcast, you know it's our

feelings. So knowing if you're in these positive feelings or negative feelings, that's super really good information and indicators

of where your thoughts are. So how you're feeling?

Definitely can be easier for some of you to be like, Wait a minute, if I'm not feeling good, maybe I'm not having using, you know, my mental capabilities to choose a thought that was

going to serve me here. And you'll think that your feeling is coming from, you know, your life in the world and

outside of you, the circumstances like you'll think your feelings
00:16:25:22 - 00:16:29:21
are coming from your kids or from the state of your house or
00:16:29:24 - 00:16:31:04
what the scale says,

but you're not. Your feelings are coming from your thoughts. And yeah, your feelings are just they're always
00:16:39:02 - 00:16:43:20
coming from your thinking. So if we want to believe new things,

getting awareness about our thoughts and then in addition, for sure, more awareness of how you're feeling
00:16:51:21 - 00:17:02:16
is going to be key. So pay attention to your thoughts if they're like, I don't like so-and-so, I don't want x y z.

That doesn't work or that won't work for me. I've never done it before, or it's their fault

or she did this to me. Notice that those thoughts, they they they zap your empowerment and they block any new beliefs because new beliefs require self-empowerment.

This is what makes us believe the

current thoughts that we are believing right now. We practice them. We practice them a lot. And then we

repeat thinking them over and over again. So believing is deciding and accepting that something is true, but it doesn't really make it true, it just makes each of us believe that it's true. And I want you to understand the difference, because if you want to stop believing something,

you first have to recognize

that you have accepted

your current belief as true, and then from there

you can just decide to change your mind about it. You just get to.

You have full control over where you spend your minds focus. And you've learned to believe everything about yourself up

into now because you've been practiced thinking it and then you've been repeating this, thinking you've literally studied it to believe that it's true. So when we're trying to believe new things, we just have to do the same thing with new thoughts, thoughts that we

choose on purpose, that we want to believe about ourselves in our life.

And then we have to practice thinking them and then repeat that over and over. It's time for you to be much
00:18:48:04 - 00:18:49:13
more deliberate

with this. You have to create a new belief. But first, you have to choose what that new belief

about yourself is
00:18:58:08 - 00:19:25:23
that you want. So pick something, pick some things. What do you want to create in your life? And what new beliefs will it take for you to practice in order to get there? One thing I was so fascinated to learn was I get to pick anything I want just because I want it. There's no half truths. There's no no need to

choose or shoulds. There are no rules about what
00:19:29:12 - 00:19:32:09
you can believe. There's no tests.
00:19:32:20 - 00:19:34:03
There's no approval
00:19:34:05 - 00:19:39:17
needed. Definitely not outside approval. You can just decide to believe

that you are amazing, that you are a great mom, that you're beautiful,

that you have a green
00:19:45:26 - 00:19:48:09
thumb, that you're very organized,
00:19:48:15 - 00:19:59:25
that you really manage your time well, that you've got it all under control. You get to just believe what you want to believe and then go at

the work of proving this true for yourself.

Building the evidence in your life of how this is true. No one can tell you not to.

You can decide to believe that you're smart and capable

and fun and successful, no matter what anyone says. Isn't that just such fantastic news? Yeah. So ah no. Our brain can't believe two opposing things at the same time without it just feeling discomfort. So we want to decide what we want to believe, and that's where we put our focus. We have to go into

our futures
00:20:42:27 - 00:20:50:23
and imagine. I always ask my clients, OK, so this goal, I want you to go ahead and imagine it's done. Imagine you have it.

Imagine you are that person.

What does it look like? What are you doing? What are you thinking? How are you feeling? What does it look like when you wake up in the morning? What does it look like when you go to bed at night?

How are you around your family? How are you showing up at work?

Just tap, tap into that imagination. Start to visualize what that will look like this. Our brain, when we go to make that

picture, our brain will go to work, helping

you to make

that picture a reality.

Now, when I just mentioned about believing those two opposing things, like most of us to stay within the realm of those old beliefs, we just spend a lot of time there because we already believe them and it's very comfortable. Our past is showing us evidence of what we think is

possible for ourselves,

but a belief is just a thought. You keep on thinking even though the past is over. So you get to just choose a new belief and that will create a different future.

You're so familiar with current

beliefs that you just accept them. So when you want to believe something new, you have to decide to learn it. With this practice, you literally have to practice thinking it.

Accepting it as true,

deciding it's true for you. And eventually you will believe it. Some of you might be hearing this and think, isn't that kind of like brainwashing yourself? And my answer is, yeah, kind of. The thing is, is that we do have to trick our brain. It tricks us sometimes. Well, a lot of the times

it tries to tell us that it's not possible for us or that we don't deserve it, or
00:22:42:27 - 00:23:06:00
that we should just keep things as is in our lives. So, yeah, I want you if that helps to think about it a little bit about like brainwashing, because if you do that, if you decide what you want to believe on purpose and you visualize it and you just create the thought that aligns with that vision and just decide to

accept it as true and then practice

thinking it and then repeat practice thinking it over and over again, you will eventually come to believing it. Included in this process is something that we

call bridge or ladder

thoughts. It means that we don't always have to jump to practicing a thought that we don't like is just

too far out of the

realm of what we think is possible for our lives. So I'm going to give you an example. So when it comes to the technology piece that I mentioned earlier,

really did believe like, I'm not good at technology. I it's hard. It's not something that I enjoy and that it's too complicated. And those were thoughts from my past, right? Just kind of like dealing with computers and things like that before.

That is what felt true to me
